Embarking on my journey through the realm of art is akin to taking a vibrant ride through my unique realities, distorted perspectives and unseen dimensions of my imagination. Visionary art is not just an embodiment of our imagination - perhaps, it is more akin to the artist revealing their inner psyche to the world, with the hopes of presenting a message, stirring emotions and sparking conversations.
My journey as a visionary artist began as a simple art venture - an exploration of personal expression and perception unlike my other past work. Over the last couple decades, it has evolved into a greater exploration of not only my consciousness, but also an attempt at enclosing the collective human experience that is my own. There is a profound dialogue between myself and my creations; the canvas is silent, yet it speaks through my digital work, paintbrush with color, form, and content, weaving tales through my oil paint pens that words fall short and I pick back up with my intricate odd details and texture in each piece I produce.
My artwork often marries the otherworldly with the grounded aspects of our own reality, the surreal with the familiar and can be confusing for you, which I use as a platform in my creations. This deliberate contact evokes a sense of odd tension and curiosity that draws the beholder into the heart of the artwork, which you’ll never see for it’s permanently placed in my thoughts. This enables the viewers to directly experience the pulsating essence of my inner world without knowing where my focal point is as Steve Liggett has quoted about my work.
My objective surpasses mere visual artistic taste, as it struggles to confront conventional artistic viewpoints, and ignite transformative shifts in awareness of us outsiders, inviting a altered state of consciousness that I hope in time becomes a normal sight in every business, home and place we visit often.
In terms of technique, I gravitate towards cultivating minimalistic imagery using my black and white ink pieces of intricate details and then placing that on a photoshopped background on a wood backed canvas. Every stroke of my brush after is an inner-directed moment, a silent dialogue with my inner self, and a reflection of my awareness at that present moment. In this sense, each piece serves as a timeline of self-growth and evolution of my imagination and it’s ever growing and will never cease.
Furthermore, the act of sharing my artwork serves to unify diverse individual experiences within a broader collective human narrative. It enables the audience to forge a connection with the core of my emotions, recognize my common and sometimes unusual fears and longings, and potentially delve into the profound enigmas surrounding my very existence.
In conclusion, my art is less about producing objects and more about sharing my life experiences even if it’s just my imaginative kind, less about likeness and more about my mental grounding and forgetting my chronic pain. Through my art, I give form to feelings, structure to my dreams and voice to my unheard thoughts with unflinching honesty and raw dark emotion, hopeful for the connection and conversation that follow.
My journey is continuous, my canvas vast, and my paintbrushes and Ink pens remain poised for the next revelation.
